James Pelow BA(Mod) (TCD), H.Dip (NUIG)

James Pelow, the founder of Snasta, has extensive translation experience and has been translating on a professional basis since 2008. Educated at Glenageary/Killiney National School and Newpark School, Blackrock, James read Early and Modern Irish at the University of Dublin, Trinity College, and subsequently completed a Postgraduate H.Dip. in Irish Language Translation Studies at NUI Galway.

He has translated a vast array of documents, signs, websites, software and advertisements for private companies and public bodies alike, including the Health Information and Quality Authority, the Health Service Executive, an Garda Síochána, the Road Safety Authority, the Department of Transport and Revenue.

As well as his work in the Irish translation sector, James has also worked in web and graphic design sectors, and in Enterprise Systems and Technology Finance in AIB Group.

In 2009, James developed MacLitriú, the only native Irish Spelling Checker for Mac OS X, which is available on this site. James is currently the honorary secretary of Club Chonradh na Gaeilge on Harcourt Street in Dublin.
